How to Cleanse Your Face with a Konjac Sponge
Posted on February 07 2018
Washing our face is usually thought of in a traditional sense with a wash cloth or cleanser and water but adding a natural Konjac sponge to your beauty routine is a luxurious and effective way to wash and gently exfoliate your face.
Konjac is a beauty secret that is well known in the Asian beauty industry but it's inception into the North American market place started a couple years ago and is still relatively unknown.
What is Konjac?
Konjac is a jelly-like substance made from a Japanese potato, it can be eaten or turned into a sponge to be used in beauty routines. The Konjac sponge is hard when dry, but when moistened under water, it expands into a very soft textured sponge. It is excellent for cleansing skin as it breaks down dirt, restores pH balance and doesn't contain any preservatives or chemicals.
A Konjac exfoliating sponge can be used alone or with a cleanser to provide a gentle exfoliation of the face, neck and upper chest area and is suitable for all skin types. It is highly absorbent allowing for your cleanser to go further. We recommend adding a Daily Concepts Konjac Sponge to your cleansing routine a couple times per week.
Who can use a Konjac sponge?
Konjac sponges are ideal for women of all ages, men and babies as well! For men, a Konjac exfoliating sponge is ideal on the face and neck as it prevents ingrown hairs by gently removing dead skin cells and allowing for softer skin.
To cater to different skin types, the Your Konjac Sponge from Daily Concepts offers three varieties—Turmeric for dry skin, Charcoal for oily and acne prone skin or Pure. We especially love the river rock shape of these Konjac sponges to fit nicely into the palm of your hand.
A further benefit to using a Konjac sponge is that it can be used for bathing babies as it is non-irritating and no soap is needed. Your Baby's Konjac sponges come in three varieties - Pure, Chamomile infused to help soothe and calm baby or Lavender infused to help relax and put baby to sleep.
Life cycle of a Konjac sponge
Daily Concepts scrubbers and sponges come with functional packaging to suction to the walls, hold your sponge and to allow for proper air ventilation. A Konjac sponge will begin to disintegrate and will last for approximately three months. They are biodegradable so you will feel confident throwing out your Konjac sponge after it's use.
